Bagels Plus was founded in 1995 and is a family owned and operated business. We are located at 93 Great Road (Route 2A), Acton, MA, one mile from the Concord rotary.
We are open every day at 6 a.m. and our breakfast menu includes bagels and gourmet cream cheese (made on the premises) as well as eggs on a bagel. We also offer homemade muffins, Sudbury Coffee Works coffee, hot and iced specialty drinks from our espresso machine, freshly brewed iced tea, Chai, Smoothies, Frozen Cappuccino, and Hot Cider(seasonal). For lunch we offer a full menu of hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and soups (seasonal). Our deli meats are the highest quality and we mix our chicken salad and tuna salad from scratch. For dessert we offer our homemade cookies and brownies.
Our bagel dough is made daily at our store in Acton, proofed overnight, then water boiled and baked on brick the next day by our baker. Our bagels are baked fresh each day and we use only the best quality ingredients. Although our method of baking is labor intensive and expensive, it is certainly worth it and has resulted in our winning many awards over the years. We have loyal customers who boast of bringing our bagels to all parts of the U.S., Japan and Europe when they are traveling to see friends and family. Our store is the first stop for many college students returning home and feeling homesick. We are even honored with a club on Facebook, created by one of our customers.
Bagels Plus has supported many charitable and non-profit organizations over the years. We receive requests to support many causes and we do our best to give back to the community. We donate end-of-day bagels to special school events, community suppers, food pantries, and shelters. In addition, we made a major commitment to support Bagel Buddies, a program that involved students at the Case Collaborative in Acton, MA. These students, with the support of their teachers, ran a small bagel cart at their school on Mondays from 2004-2011 selling our bagels and coffee to school staff. The proceeds of this student run business were used to fund their field trips throughout the year and to make their own charitable donations. Interacting with staff and making sales, these students practiced language and social skills as well as organizational skills. Our involvement with Bagel Buddies turned out to be our most rewarding community endeavor.
