The Norwood Training Center is an Olympic Weightlifting gym. We are open daily, with most lifting happening from 5pm to 8pm on weekdays and 11am to 2pm on Saturdays.
We have lifters of all levels, from those who never lifted before, to competitive intermediate lifters, to Crossfitters who want to refine their weightlifting, to elite international-level lifters.
The gym is officially open from 10am to 8:30pm most days in an open-gym format. Our advanced lifters help those who are less experienced, in a very hard-working and friendly environment.
For those who want coaching, we offer one-on-one, group, and remote coaching. Message or call us for more information. Our coaches have top-level experience coaching individuals of all levels.
Coaches of Norwood Training Center:
Donny Venterosa is the owner and a coach at the Norwood Training Center. Donny has been in weightlifting for over 30 years, has set numerous masters New England records, has coached people of all levels and has traveled the US to coach alongside top athletes and coaches like Vasiliy Polovnikov, Dimitry Klokov, Denis Reno, and Yasha Kahn.
Vasiliy Polovnikov is an 8 time Russian national champion who has traveled the world competing in and coaching weightlifting.
Yasha Kahn is a 3-time US National medalist, and New England record holder in the snatch and total in the 105kg weight class. Over the past 2 years, Yasha has produced seminars with, coached alongside and has been coached by top weightlifters such as Vasiliy Polovnikov, Dimitry Klokov, Ilya Ilyin, Tatiana Kashirina, Zygmunt Smalcerz, Donny Venterosa, Denis Reno, Vladimir Krasnov, Boris Sheiko and Mikhail Koklyeav. Along with coaching the Norwood Training Center Team, he has also been a coach of Innercity Weightlifting in Boston, and currently coaches other athletes.
Denis Reno is a weightlifting rockstar. Denis is the most interesting man in the world, of weightlifting. There is really too much to say about Denis and his contribution to the sport of weightlifting, but in short, he has trained national champions, has been the team leader for team USA to world championships and to the Olympics, has been the technical director and head announcer at numerous national and international competitions, and holds many masters New England records.
